23 January 2026 Orientation
26 January  Australia Day public holiday (Monday)
27 January Semester 1 classes begin (Tuesday)
27 January – 5 June Teaching period
2 February  Last day to add classes for Semester 1
20 February  Semester 1 census date – this is the deadline for key actions such as dropping a course or cancelling your enrolment without financial penalty. Courses discontinued on or before the census date will not appear on your academic transcript.
9 March  Labour Day public holiday (Monday)
3 April  Good Friday public holiday
3–10 April Mid-semester break (Friday to Friday, includes Easter)
6 April  Easter Monday public holiday 
7 April  Easter Tuesday RMIT holiday 
13 April  Classes resume (Monday)
25 April  Anzac Day public holiday (Saturday)
1–5 June Assessment period
5 June  Semester 1 classes end
8 June King’s Birthday public holiday (Monday)
8 June  10 July Semester break
9–12 June Deferred/supplementary assessment week
